Implementing Analytics: P3P and Social Native cookies

Updated over 4 years ago

In some situations, the cookies your web browser uses to secure and authenticate your online presence and store your preferences may be served from a different domain than the website you’re visiting.

This may happen, for example, if you interact with a Social Native widget embedded on a site you’re currently browsing. While some browsers still require the use of P3P protocol for 3rd party cookies, P3P was not designed with situations like these in mind.

The organization that established P3P, the World Wide Web Consortium, suspended its work on this protocol several years ago because modern web browsers do not support P3P, and the standard is now largely out of date. As a result, most websites and 3rd party services, including Social Native, do not have P3P policies or P3P protocol support.

Social Native wants its users to make informed decisions about the information they share with us, and understand how we collect user data. We provide information on these issues in our Privacy Policy, and we update our policy regularly to reflect new features and product offerings that affect our privacy practices.
