Connect your Facebook account to collect content
Updated over a year ago

To make the most of the platform, it's essential to link your social media accounts. This will let you gather content, request permissions, and engage with content creators.

To connect your social profiles, Access the Settings tab by navigating to the top left menu, next to your brand logo and then select Social Accounts.

To get started with collecting content from mentions on Instagram and requesting rights, you need the following:

  • Facebook page for your brand

  • Admin or Editor access to the Facebook page

  • Instagram Business account

Connecting your Facebook to collect content from @mentions

To make sure your Facebook account is ready to connect to Social Native (formerly Olapic), you’ll need to take the following steps:

  • Ensure that your Instagram account is an Instagram Business account

  • Check to make sure that you’re an Admin or Editor for your brand’s Facebook page

  • Link your Instagram Business account to your brand’s Facebook page

  • Connect your Facebook account to Social Native (formerly Olapic).
To collect from @mentions, you need to agree all the Facebook permissions prompted:

    • Note: A "Not now" option may prompt, please DO NOT select this option but accept the changes you are making to ensure the connection is properly completed.

    • It is also helpful to check the account's settings. You will have to connect a personal account, as business pages are managed by people and do not have their own login credentials. This is normal. Social Native will not post nor use your personal information.

Assign which social media account should be your default for each network. This will be the first option for you to request rights from. You have the option to collect from multiple accounts:

  • 20 Instagram profiles

  • 20 Twitter profiles

  • 1 Facebook profile

    • Note: You will have to connect a personal account, as business pages are managed by people and do not have their own login credentials. This is normal.

An error notification will appear next to the Social Profiles tab if you have a social connection that isn't working properly.

Verify connection details

Once you connect your Facebook account, you will be able to see all the Instagram accounts connected to it, and the connection status for each, with instructions to troubleshoot in case of errors.

Connection statuses are updated every time you load or refresh the settings page. Status will indicate if you can:

  • Collect: by media tag, by mention, from Instagram business profile.

  • Request rights programmatically.

  • Publish media to Instagram business profiles.

  • Publish media to TapShop.

You can use the Search bar at the top to search through all your connected accounts and easily find the one you want to know the status of.

About connection statuses

  • The “Active” status shows that the connections in that particular Facebook account are successful and working.

  • The warning message “Your action is required in # account" means that there is an error preventing functionalities like collect, ask for rights, etc, for at least one account. You will need to follow the troubleshooting guidelines based on the displayed error message.

Toggle your Social Network Settings

  • Enable or disable the ability for your default Instagram account to automatically 'like' content on Instagram if the user has granted you rights to their image or video.

  • Connect your Facebook account that has already been linked to an ads account to Olapic. This will let you create Instagram ads or Facebook boosted posts through Olapic.
